Venezuela, officially called the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela (Spanish: República Bolivariana de Venezuela), is a tropical country on the northern coast of South America. It is a continental mainland with numerous islands located off its coastline in the Caribbean Sea. The republic is a former Spanish colony, that won its independence in 1821.

The small island of Margarita belongs to Venezuela and enjoys the status of tax-free area. Beercans are cheaper and identified through a red circle printed on them.
