Okinawa Island (沖縄本島 Okinawa-hontō, or 沖縄島 Okinawa-jima) is the largest of the Ryukyu Islands of Japan, and is home to Naha, the capital of Okinawa Prefecture. The island has an area of 1,201.03 square kilometers (463.7 sq mi).
Battlefield of the second WW, Okinawa was first occupied by U.S- and then given back to Japan in 1972. The nice ''Orion'' cans showing pictures of the local people should have been produced immediately after.
